Francisco de Souza: Travel Photography

The site of Francisco de Souza is populated with galleries of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand and Vietnam…big images which grab viewers the way pictures should. None of this silly small photographs to “shield my operate” from Francisco. He would like to show his pictures, and he does.

His biography tells us he was born and raised in Zimbabwe, exactly where he began to photograph his Shona tribal neighbours because he was eleven. Subsequently displaced from his Zimbabwean house, he travelled to numerous building nations in Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, and South East Asia. It is there he started out to actively operate with and help Non Government Organisations in Indonesia, India and Zimbabwe.

Francisco’s function has been shortlisted in the Digital Photographer of the Year competition in 2009, and he received a Diploma in Photography from The Photography Institute of New Zealand in 2010.

In his India gallery, Francisco features an elderly lady in a red sari, probably a Gujarati or Rajasthani tribal judging from her tattoos, getting assisted unto the back of a truck…a best capture in time and motion.
