Van Gogh will be in Genoa with Gaugin with an exhibition at the Palazzo Ducale from November 12, 2011 April 15, 2012 . The exhibition’s title, is Van Gogh and Gauguin’s journey and includes about 80 paintings by authors who lived between nineteenth and twentieth centuries, among them, as well as Van Gogh and Gauguin, are Caspar David Friedrich Kandinsky and Hopper. After the success of the Impressionists in the past year, this time Genoa hosts an exhibition dedicated to the journey (both physical and mental), and its various representations in the course of the last century.
The trip is an issue close to many artists of the nineteenth and twentieth century and for the same Van Gogh , which, in the course of his life, he moved many times, going from Holland to England to France, where he lived in many different cities. Gaugin hand went up in Polynesia in Tahiti, where he painted the famous picture Where have we come? Who are we? Where to now?, Which is one of the most important pieces of the exhibition.
